We know that leaving your pup behind can be stressful. We’ve done our best to compile some of the most frequently asked questions and their answers.
Don’t see your question, don’t hesitate to reach out and talk with one of our staff.
Check-in is at anytime during normal business hours. Check out is by 12p. If you choose to pickup after 12p, a half day of daycare rate will be applied to your final bill.
We do encourage you to bring your pup earlier in the day when they start boarding, so they have plenty of time to run off all their energy!
If your dog is sick, please do not bring them. If our staff notices any sort of irregular stools or other signs of illness, your dog will be separated and isolated immediately. We do this to help keep the facility clean, and keep our other play pups safe. Depending on the severity, you or your dog's emergency contact may be called so the dog can be picked up. If we do notice sever illness or issues continuing to get worse and cannot get in contact with you or your emergency contact we will take your dog to our local veterinarian at your (owners) cost.
We understand that sometimes life can take you (and your pup) to new places and you may not have time for an evaluation. If your dog has previously stayed with another daycare/boarding facility, we can accept references from them in place of an evaluation.
It is not unusual that during normal play, a dog may get small scratches, nicks, or lose a bit of fur. Our staff is well trained in managing play when it may get too rough. We do have onsite dog first aid kits. While more serious injuries are very rare, if serious treatment is needed, we will contact you or your emergency contact, and rush your pup to our partnering veterinarian. Please note, that in an effort to provide transparency to our pup parents, any scratches that are sustain (small or large) will be reported during pickup.

All new daycare and boarding dogs are required to go through a 4 hour evaluation. This helps ensure that your dog gets to know the daily routine of Doggie Howser and our staff. Some things that we look for during our evaluation:
Many dogs experience fatigue, excessive thirst, and potentially soreness. There is nothing to worry about, as this is fairly typical. When at daycare/boarding your pup experiences an increase in social encounters, and exercise than what a typical day at home may provide.
Yes absolutely. Doggie Howser's facility has been built specifically for the dogs! Our outdoor play yards are shaded by two large pecan trees, outfitted with K9 dog turf and surrounded by 6ft privacy fences.
Worried about the Texas heat? We've got you covered. We do have indoor air conditioned space for the dogs to cool down. When outside each of our outdoor play yards are equipped with water bowls and splash zones!
Dogs must be 4 months or older.
All dogs over 12 months of age must be spayed or neutered to participate in daycare. If your dog is already a current club member and turns 12 months old without being spayed or neutered, they will no longer be allowed in large-format group play. If you wish to continue daycare or boarding services with us, we require a medical note from your veterinarian explaining why they recommend waiting or not spaying/neutering your dog. On a case-by-case basis and with team approval, we are open to creating small, curated playgroups for your dogs, allowing several play sessions throughout the day. Unfortunately, we are not accepting new dogs over 12 months of age that are not spayed or neutered at this time.
Initial evaluations and boarding require reservations. Reservations for daycare are not required, but are highly encouraged so that we can ensure we have adequate staff to create safe and fun environment. At the moment we do accept walk-in daycare pups, however as we grow we may move to a reservation only system. If you do choose to walk-in with your pup, we do encourage you to call ahead to ensure there is space available.
